Job Description

Department: Business Process Management (BPM) – Finance & Accounting Practice

Location: Pune (with travel as required)

Reports To: Finance & Accounting Practice Leader

Role Type: Client-facing Process Consulting / Transformation Leadership

Job Summary

We are seeking dynamic and experienced professionals to lead Finance & Accounting (F&A) process consulting engagements and technology-enabled finance transformation programs across diverse industries. This role is pivotal in driving measurable business outcomes through operating model redesign, process optimization, automation, analytics, and strong data/control foundations. The candidate will shape the finance technology landscape in partnership with IT (CIO/CTO organizations), ensuring scalable, secure, and integrated solutions aligned to enterprise architecture, risk, and compliance expectations.

Why Join Us?

·       Work with leading global clients on high-impact finance transformation and digital enablement programs.

·       Be part of a collaborative and innovative team shaping the future of finance through process, data, and technology.

·       Access continuous learning, leadership development, and accelerated career growth opportunities.

Key Success Outcomes (What “Good” Looks Like)

·       Reduced close cycle time (e.g., faster month-end/quarter-end close) through standardization and close automation.

·       Improved straight-through processing (STP) rates and reduced manual effort across P2P and O2C via automation and controls.

·       Improved finance data accuracy, lineage, and auditability through robust data governance and reconciliation frameworks.

·       Measurable cost-to-serve reduction and productivity gains via operating model changes and digitization.

·       Improved decision support through governed analytics, KPI frameworks, and self-service reporting.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead end-to-end process consulting engagements for F&A functions (P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A, Treasury, Tax), including diagnostics, future-state design, and implementation of transformation initiatives.

·       Assess current-state processes using data-driven diagnostics to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, digitization, and control strengthening.

·       Design future-state Target Operating Models (TOM) aligned with business objectives, shared services/GBS principles, and industry best practices.

·       Co-own and shape the finance application and data architecture in partnership with IT and enterprise architects, ensuring coherent integration across ERP and best-of-breed SaaS tools (API/batch integration patterns, data flows, and system interoperability).

·       Advise on and help select technology solutions across ERP, close automation, spend/procurement platforms, analytics, RPA, and AI—ensuring architectural fit, scalability, security, and sustainable run operations.

·       Define and enforce finance data governance: master data standards (vendor/customer/COA), data quality controls, data lineage, reconciliation frameworks, and access controls/Segregation of Duties (SoD) in line with audit and compliance needs.

·       Identify, prioritize, and govern automation opportunities including RPA and intelligent automation (OCR/IDP, AI/ML), ensuring value realization, explainability/traceability where needed, model risk considerations, and compliance alignment.

·       Develop transformation roadmaps, business cases, and value-tracking mechanisms with clear KPIs (close cycle time, automation rate, STP %, cost savings, control effectiveness, accuracy/rework reduction).

·       Partner with CIO/CTO organizations, system integrators, and SaaS vendors to manage delivery dependencies, integration risks, and long-term scalability.

·       Support pre-sales/operations sales: discovery workshops, solutioning, proposals, pitches, and pricing; contribute to reusable assets and accelerators.

·       Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of delivery excellence, learning, and continuous improvement.

·       Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting the F&A landscape; translate them into practical client recommendations.

Required Qualifications

·       Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CA or MBA preferred.

·       3–5+ years of experience in finance transformation, process consulting, or advisory/service delivery roles (with at least 3 years in transformation/process consulting).

·       Strong understanding of core F&A processes: P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A, Treasury, and Tax.

·       Experience designing and/or implementing integrated finance technology ecosystems—ERP (SAP S/4HANA or Oracle Cloud) plus relevant platforms for close automation, spend management, analytics, and automation—with working knowledge of data models and integration patterns.

·       Working knowledge of governance and controls: data governance, SoD/access controls, audit readiness, and reconciliation/close controls.

·       Ability to define and track transformation metrics and communicate outcomes to senior stakeholders.

·       Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills; willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Skills

·       Hands-on exposure to tools/platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP, BlackLine, Coupa, Power BI (or equivalent) and automation platforms (RPA/IDP).

·       Experience in shared services or Global Business Services (GBS) environments; operating model transitions and service management.

·       Exposure to process mining / process intelligence and value realization governance.

·       Exposure to integrated reporting frameworks and enterprise performance management concepts.

·       Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile, or relevant transformation methodologies.

Sample Transformation KPIs (Illustrative)

·       Close cycle time reduction (days) and improved on-time close adherence.

·       Automation rate (% of transactions automated) and STP (straight-through processing) % for P2P/O2C.

·       Reduction in manual journal entries and reconciliation exceptions; improved audit findings/controls effectiveness.

·       Cost savings / productivity improvement (FTE hours saved, cost-to-serve reduction).

·       Data quality improvements (error rates, rework reduction, master data compliance).

·       Adoption metrics for analytics (active users, decision-cycle time reduction, KPI availability/latency).
